Pauri City
The city of Pauri is a beautiful place. It is located at an height of 1,650 metres above sea level and provides a breathtaking view of the snow laden Himalayan peaks of Bandar Pooch, Swarga Rohini, Jonli, Gangotri Group, Jogin Group, Thalaiya - sagar, Kedarnath, Kharcha Kund, Sumeru, Satopanth, Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Ghoriparbat, Nandadevi, and Trishul.
Khirsu
Khirsu is located about 19 kms. from Pauri. The snow-capped mountains of Khirsu offer a marvelous view of the Central Himalayas. It attracts a large number of tourists each year. From Khirsu, one can get a clear view of many peaks that surround it. There is an ancient temple that is located here which is dedicated to Ghandiyal Devta and is located pretty close by. Khirsu is a very peaceful place that is free from any kind of pollution.
Nagdev
Nagdev temple is situated about 5 kms from the main bus stop at Pauri. It is a temple dedicated to the snake God Nag and is located in a dense forest of Pine and Rhodendron. While going to the temple, one can even pay a visit to the beautiful observatory that is installed here.
From the observatory one can get a clear view of the gigantic Himalayan ranges like Chaukhamba, Gangotri Group, Banderpoonch, Kedardom, Kedarnath etc. The temple is located on the Pauri- Bubakhal road. One can reach there after a trek of 1½ km.
Kandolia
Kandolia is another Shiva temple that is located in the dense forest of oak and pine, on the Kondolia hills. There is a beautiful park that is located just adjacent to Kandolia. During the summers, this park is filled with the cheers and laughter of families that come here. One side of the park provides a beautiful view of the Pauri city while the other side provides a view of the Gangwarsyun valley. Kandolia is accessible on foot (1 km.) as well as on a vehicle (2 kms.)
Baikunth Chaturdashi
During the Baikunth Chaturdashi every year, a fair takes place at this place. Women take lamps on their palm and seek blessings for a baby, the whole night. Furthermore, a 12 km. trek from Baikunth Chaturdashi leads to Dudhatoli which is located at 3,001 metres above sea level. It is considered as one of the most beautiful treks of Pauri.
The view that the traveler is presented with is just magnificent. The clear blue sky and the white peaks present a breathtaking picture.
Tarakund
Tarakund is located at a height of 2,200 metres above sea level. It is a small picturesque town situated between the huge mountains that surround the place. It is blessed by a small but beautiful lake and an ancient temple.
Binsar Mela
Each year, during the Vaikunth Chaturdashi and Karthik Purnima, a two day Binsar Mela is orgaized at the Binsar Mahadev temple. It is located at the remote district of Chauthan Patti and Dhoodatoli forests. People from various districts, like Pauri, Chamoli, Almora and Rudraprayag come here to worship.
Bharat Nagar
Bharat Nagar is located about 22 kms. from Pauri and is perched at a height of 1,400 metres above the sea level. According to legends, Bharat Nagar once was full of natural life giving herbs. The place provides a wonderful view of the Balawali Bridge at River Ganga, the Kalagarh dam and the Kotdwar town.
