Indian Veterinary Research Institute/IVRI
The IVRI or Indian Veterinary Research Institute is one of the premier research institutes of the country. It is dedicated to the research work of livestock and development of the same, in the region. It came into being in the year 1893 on the recommendations of the Cattle Plague Commission.
It is located at Mukteshwar and its main function is to research, assist and quarantine highly infectious organisms. Its primary work involves researching animal nutrition, genetics and bacteriology.
Mukteshwar museum and library
Located in the Indian Veterniary Research Institute campus, at Mukteshwar is a library and museum. There are loads of books available in the library while the museum preserves the heritage and values of the IVRI.
