Vasuki Tal is located about 8 kms. from Kedarnath and at an altitude of 4,135 metres above sea level. The lake is surrounded by some high mountain ridges which presents an excellent view of the Chaukhamba peaks surrounding it.
Kedarnath situated close by, is the site of one of the twelve ‘Jyotirlingas’ of Lord Shiva. It is one of the most revered sacred sites of the Hindus. Kedarnath is surrounded by lofty Himalayan peaks which provide one of the most stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Because of the high altitude and extreme weather conditions, the best season to visit this higher altitude region is June to October.
